My Beautiful Accomplishment

Admire the beauty....

Ok, I'll admit. I have to send out huge props to J-fer who helped me TREMENDOUSLY with this enormous endeavor.

Stash pics (nice blurry ones ..sheesh)

It's a sight of beauty, isn't it? It's an oasis with a wonderful soy lavendar scented candle that burns while I'm in there. The kids can visit (only with positive energy, please). People can come in and actually SIT on the couch and not fall off the one little section that maybe they could push back some fabric from. I even have Lil Lady's easel in there so she can do some 'creating' on her own.

I'm loving it!
And along with this 'exposure' of sorts is a link to a birthday celebration that I'm joining in on!

I could be thoughtful...

..but I think I'll share something that was shared with me.

Happy Birthday, Elvis!

Elvis would have been 74 today. One of the most magnetic, charismatic, mystifying and amazing people on this planet.

Just watch the video my husband got me for a gift one year. My sister and I sat and watched, shaking our heads. Either you 'get it' or you don't.

Elvis was an amazing energy and is fantastic to watch from his hey day. (is that how you spell that?) The way he sings, performs and gives passionate kisses to those in the audience has me melting EVERY time.

I wish he had a more healthy life and didn't die so bloated and sick at the end. But to see him in the Las Vegas compilation is a MUST see for any fan.

I'm getting off topic-- Happy Birthday to Elvis! The world misses you!!

I'm in a contest!!

And I'd really like to ask you to go and vote.

I'd love it if you thought my outfit for dd for Christmas was the best! However, your vote does count and the winner gets $100 in fabric!

Oh ya.. I'd love to get my hands on that.. because I truly do not have enough fabric. LOL

My entry is #3

Thanks!!

Happy New Year!

And wishes for a wonderful 2009 for everyone!

Well, one can hope, can't they?!

Usually, as a family, we go to First Night Worcester. It's a great event with tons of entertainers and fun and food! But with dh and my work schedules on Wed, it just didn't look good. I'd been attending First Night since my oldest was 2!! (11 yrs ago) Many times, dh would be working second shift and we'd go on our own-- or baby slingin' or running through the streets blowing off steam (like little boys require!) or baby slingin' again or dragging kids through the streets.. ok, you get my drift. It was a little sad not to be able to go but with the temperatures lingering around 5 DEGREES F, we weren't as sad as we could have been!

And then, like luck would have it, our dear friends invited us over for a New Year's Eve party! Our first since kids, I might add! The kids played the Wii and ate munchies while the parents played a game called "Damn it!" It was much like Trouble or Sorry but you used marbles that went around a Chinese Checker reminiscent board and used a die to work out how many to move. If you roll a 1 or a 6, you can let a guy out of 'home' and then roll again. Ok, first off, my dh isn't known for his 'good luck'. You wouldn't have known that last night! He'd roll a 1 or a 6 3, 4, 5, 6,7, 8 times in a row!! No lie! The others of us barely held that die, I tell ya! And we were all playing the game on the offensive LOL which means, no one was winning, we were all just making sure the other guy was LOSING! It was a scream. And, by the end of the night, we'd renamed the game to "You Suck"

Happy New Year All!!
